Personal Prayers

By Sophia
Thank you for:
G- Good Food
O- Outstanding Family
D- Daring Friends

Blessed are you Adoni, my God, King of the Universe. I pray to you because You becaues You are my one and only one that I shall ever pray to, for I am thankful for my gift of life and a loving dad, mom, and other members of the family. I am so thankful for my health and my edah. -Elyse

I'm thankful for wonderful food because without food I would have no energy to run or play games.   -Nathan

Our Creator, our God
Our Teacher
Our Protector
Our Leader
Our President
Thank you for creating us in Your image and enabling us to camp and look up at the stars.  -Ronit

The Giborei Overnight

On our overnight I really liked the "Eggs" skits. I liked the valleygirl style and the camper style the best. I also liked going to the beach and making tunnels in the sand. -Nathan

I liked the "Eggs" skits. But what I liked the best was being at the beach because it was my first time. I liked the feel of the water on my legs, and how the sand is so soft. But I did not like how much seaweed there was, and how cold it was! We got to sleep under the stars, but it was so misty in the morning that we woke up all wet. -Elyse

I liked going surfing for the first time. I didn't like there being so much kelp and seaweed that it got in my hair. -Sophia

On the Giborei overnight, we had a great time. First of all, we played a really fun skit game called "Eggs." Then we went to bed and the Giborei girls fell asleep gazing at the stars. When we woke up, there was such a thick layer of fog, that we could barely see the other side of the park. Surfing was really fun, but it was freezing. We had to leave after everyone went surfing, so there was not any time to relax. Overall, this ti'ul was really great. -Ronit

Bunk Bonding by Elyse and Sophia

I love the bonding hike because when we went through the cave it was dark, slimy, and wet. There was a waterfall that looked like it was enchanted from a movie. We learned how to climb down the waterfall. We had the worst oatmeal though! We found waterbugs and my advice to campers is: Come to the hike with a postive attitude! (Even though we had to get up at 6:30 a.m). -Elyse

I hated the hike because we went into a cave. It was wet and muddy. Then we had bad oatmeal for breakfast. I wish we had more time to sleep instead of waking up so early in the morning. -Sophia

Favorite Place at camp?

Sophia and Elise had a bunk bonding during chug time today, but Ronit and Nathan still wrote about their favorite places at Camp Ramah!

I like the water slides, becaues they're really fun to ride on. I go on the water slides every day during swimming time. -Nathan

My favorite place at camp is my tzrif (bunk). It's my favorite place because you get to hang out with your bunk mates. You become very attached to the people in your bunk. You goof around and make jokes like they are your siblings. -Ronit

Bishul Bachutz vs. Bishul Bifnim (Outdoor Cooking vs. Indoor Cooking)

The Giborei Bloggers interviewed both Indoor Cooking and Outdoor Cooking today to find out how they compare.

Outdoor Cooking:

Giborei: What are you making?

Campers: Grilled peaches

Giborei: What is the best thing you have made so far?

Campers: S'mores

Giborei: What do you like about cooking?

Campers: We get to eat what we make.

Giborei: What is the difference between indoor cooking and outdoor cooking?

Campers: In indoor cooking you bake, and in outdoor cooking you grill.

Giborei: On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being the best and 10 being the worst, how do you like this chug?

Campers: 1!

Giborei: What is the most common ingredient you use?

Campers: Olive oil.

Giborei: What do you like about Outdoor cooking?

Campers: The food is good.

Indoor Cooking:

Giborei: What are you making?

Campers: Chex mix and Orange Fizzy Fizz.

Giborei: What is the special ingredient in the Fizzy Fiz?

Campers: Seltzer.

Giborei: What is usually made in indoor cooking?

Campers: We make treats and they are usually organic.

Giborei: What do you like more in this chug, cooking or eating?

Campers: Both!

Giborei: What is the best thing you have made so far?

Campers: Orange Fizz.

In the end, Giborei realized that both Indoor Cooking and Outdoor Cooking are equally awesome in their own ways!

What We Liked About Shabbat

I liked the breakfast with banana and chocolate muffins. I also enjoyed swimming, eating popsicles during story time, and sleeping in. -Nathan

On this past Saturday night, Giborei Yisrael met between the New Library and Building A. We got in a circle and made a spiral. Everyone was huddled up and putting our hands on each other's shoulders while we sang the prayers. It as very ceremonial. Afterwards we had icecream and a dance party. -Ronit

I liked sliding down the hill of the Whizin Field with a piece of cardboard. -Sophia

On Shabbat I really liked Havdallah, choosing what to wear on Friday night, and staying up late. -Elise
